A Wedding Affair

Mumbai, August 22, 2008: Turner road, Bandra had a Delhi connection at Zoya, the eclectic designer store. Bridals by designer Varija Bajaj with her label of the same name were showcased. Varija feels to 'have taken the responsibility' that the bride's once in a lifetime moment becomes 'more memorable'. "A wedding is probably that one most important time when the bride takes all care to look beautiful and outstanding. And her trousseau is one of her most prized possessions".

The Weddings in the year 2008 could be all about 'Indian detailing' with unusual play of colors, the event at Zoya seemed to emphasize. The finest textiles from the Indian treasure chest were designed in funky feel silhouettes, may it be double toned silks, Banarasi georgettes or zari brocades. Saris could tempt even teenagers to wear and yet not look elderly, though lehengas, backless cholis, ghagaras, anarkali suits were also there along with dual fabric saris and corseted blouses. Overstated bling, and perhaps Vajira's signature elements of big tassel, potli, lace and bead seemed to blend well in rich fabric which created the desired celebration ensemble.

Zoya made it the first time for Varija Bajaj in "A Wedding Affair" that she showcased her creations in Mumbai.

Niharika Khan, Jewellery Designer dazzled the occasion while models Jelinia and Gunjan glimmered it.
